Terry Bate - C.O. RAF Masirah 1954-55.
The Distillation plant arrival and installation

Terry initially made a comment on the guestbook as follows
"I was OC RAF Masirah, 1954-1955, My secretary was named Norman Abdo, the son of an Arab father and an English mother. He had been raised in Newcastle until his teens when his father spirited him away to Oman. He spoke perfect English with a broad Geordie accent and excellent Arabic. Needless to say, an invaluable asset to me, dealing with Khimji Rhamdas and the other traders!"

Some amazing historic photographs in this group. Taken with Terrys' Ziess Ikon camera that he'd purchased in Salalah.
