Dr Roger Prior - Medical Memories of Masirah

Dr Roger Prior is compiling a book about his time in the RAF which is currently (early 2016) in the very early stages. Masirah was at the start of his RAF career, and one of the highlights. He served in Salalah at the FST there, and also did some time at Changi, Gan and Cyprus as well as hospitals back in the UK. The book will be covering all those places, but Masirah was the first posting abroad.

Dr Roger Prior in Salalah

March 2016. Roger has sent me a sequel to the above covering his time in Salalah 1976. Very amusing anecdotes showing the incredibly relaxed atmosphere of such postings in the 60's and 70's. Sadly, these far flung places are all closed although there are many areas for our military to be deployed they do not spend the 9 or 12 months away that we used to do on unaccompanied tours.
